Inside Midnight Network’s official documentation repository, there’s a file called pug.gif. A tiny animated dog, quietly sitting in static/img/.

No grand announcement. No documented mascot title. In the current source, we found no text references to him. Just a pug in a folder.

Our part of the story? We found him. We liked him. We’re giving him a community. That’s $PUG.

For now, $PUG is just a meme, inspired by one of the cute animals found in Midnight’s docs. A tiny pug. A simple idea. Let’s see where the community takes it.

The dev has reached out to some Midnight developers through Discord to learn more about the pug and its origins. We’re waiting for more information. That outreach doesn’t imply a partnership or endorsement.
